There are various levels of charges for offenses related to drinking and driving. They can range from the violation of Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol to misdemeanors for Driving While Intoxicated or Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated to felonies if there is a prior conviction or an allegation of a child being present in the vehicle.
If you have been charged with Driving While Intoxicated, and you refused to submit to a chemical test (such as the breathalyzer) or if your blood alcohol content is alleged to have been over .08%, then your driver's license will likely be affected by the charges.
